Credit Law Repair, folks, is your secret weapon for exploding your credit scores and handcuffing growling debt collectors.
The other day, one of my subscribers asked, “If you had to choose the single most important aspect of credit repair to concentrate on, what would it be – The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) or FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)?
Needless to say, Ralph and other members were surprised by my response….
I don’t know why, since I’ve been very consistent throughout my videos & book, “The Busy Person’s Credit Makeover.”
Since Ralph asked me to choose just one aspect, I easily recommend you discover your particular state’s statutes. Clearly, credit law repair is more about your state’s laws, not federal laws, i.e. FCRA & FDCPA.
You see, the state in which you accepted credit–not to be confused with the state in which you now live if you’ve moved since taking credit–provides laws protecting you from rabid debt collectors.
Your debts, the amount of interest collectors can charge & the legal time limits debt collectors legally can pursue you are governed by each state. For effective, legal credit repair, we emphasize STATE laws over FCRA.
Got it? It’s STATE laws, not just federal laws! Now, Ralph (and everyone else), here’s exactly what I mean….
YOUR SECRET WEAPON
Secret Weapon #1
Your state’s laws want to protect you from debt collectors, controlling how long debt collectors attempt to collect.
This is called the Statute of Limitations (SOL) on COLLECTING, not to be confused with SOL on REPORTING.
In Florida, credit card debt is an OPEN account with a 4-year collection period. Once the four years expires, NO debt collector legally can collect…GAME OVER.
Debt collection is “Time Barred”….bye, bye, Mr. Debt Collector!
Your state’s laws also protect you from debt collectors who threaten you with garnishment, bad check fees, maximum allowable interest rates they can charge & even how debt collectors are regulated. For instance, Alabama caps interest on a judgment at 12%–a debt collector cannot run the percent up!
Credit Law Repair is not difficult, is it? Do not let debt collectors try to intimidate or ‘re-age’ your bad credit accounts. Stand up for your rights, Ralph, and everybody else. Discover your state’s laws from inside our members area or from your state’s website.
