Credit repair after identity theft leaves you fighting for more than your good name…it’s a crime that can be as deadly as any “serious” crime leaving life-long scars.
Back in the mid 80’s I became a victim of this ID Theft. I didn’t know what the hell was going on or what to do.
Much worse, the local police didn’t know what to do either. And now, 27 years later I get hit again….
Here I go again…more headaches…more frustration. This is the reality of Identity Theft…on a good day. The good news…yes, there’s good news…I am one of the “lucky” ones!
I actually knew what to do, despite my raging anger with the b@stards (past renters) who stole my identity to keep their electricity turned on…before disappearing in the middle of the night and leaving me with thousands of dollars of headaches.
Yes, I meant to say “b@stards”!
How would you feel if one morning you woke up owing $40,000 for an operation you NEVER had? Even worse, what if you were forced to clear your own name…on your time…and at your expense? And what if you were GUILTY unless you proved your innocence?
Now you have just a taste of this deadly crime’s impact! But that’s not all. Click “read more” below to see a short video sharing the horror of just one type of identity theft.
Listen carefully to news reporter Jim Osnan’s very last spine-chilling comment about Identity Theft…this should get you thinking just a bit about being vigilant about your private information.

Credit repair after identity theft is the sucker punch that knocks the wind out of you. Please follow these few prevention strategies:
- Shred all personal papers, i.e. old bills, credit card receipts & statements, etc.
- Consider thinning out your wallet or purse.
- On your checks, only put your name…that’s it. Nobody needs anything else on your checks.
- Absolutely, do not carry your Social Security card or number around.
- Don’t put outgoing mail in your box in front of your house. Use only “tamper-proof” mail boxes.
- Certainly do not leave your wallet or purse in your unlocked car as you’re playing basketball nearby. Who possibly could be THAT stupid
- And do not give our your personal information when a tenant claims her insurance company needs it.
- Don’t open email attachments…even those cute “forward me” joke email attachments.
- Stay clear of emails asking you to confirm a checking account…your DATE OF BIRTH…your social…etc. They’re “phishing”.
- Keep your computer protected…AVG is a good free solution.
