Repair credit fast guarantees and promises encouraged Susie W. of Irvine, CA. She desperately needed help, so she turned to a local not-for-profit Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) center.
Similar to the ad below, Susie carried a heavy debt load on her shoulders when she went to bed at night, when she got up in the morning & when she tried to enjoy a night out with friends.
Everywhere, Susie felt the squeeze of bad credit and bad debt.
After months of turning her phone off, shutting the blinds when she was home & sorting through her mail while standing over a paper shredder, Susie looked forward to “debt relief,” “debt consolidation,” “credit counseling” and anything else they could offer.
Susie suffered from delinquent debt…credit card debt…totaling $21,897.Wow!
In a short time, Susie began questioning & doubting her assigned counselor. The promises and guarantees didn’t seem to add up.

CONSUMER CREDIT COUNSELING DISAPPOINTMENT
Here’s what Susie discovered about her local, not-for-profit experience:
- The CCCS is funded and controlled by your Creditors and the BIG 3.
- If you leave CCCS before you have finished their program, CCCS can list your failure to complete the process as a negative listing on your credit report for years.
- The CCCS will get your bad credit accounts charged off, further killing your credit reports as derogatory accounts? Your credit reports will show that you are enrolled in a “debt consolidation” program, transforming you into a modern-day “leper” to would-be creditors who see this as a “kiss of death.”
- Essentially, your credit reports compare to the reports of a person filing for bankruptcy (BK)!
Countless ads appear on TV and in magazines for non-profit Consumer Credit Counseling agencies. Interestingly, how can a non-profit organization pay so much for advertising. If you don’t pay for their services, who does?
It just makes sense that the Big 3 and Creditors would finance the CCCS…it’s the wolf in sheep’s clothing…a kindler, gentler debt collector.
“… The Consumer Credit Counseling Service providers are ‘sponsored’ by major banks and lending companies, and CCCS keeps its sponsors happy by collecting your money!…”

If you’ve worked with CCCS as Susie has, did CCCS tell you that their strategy is to get your accounts charged off and settled for less than the full amount?
I have stacks of comments, questions & stories from Credit-Success members who have shared their consumer credit counseling service experiences.
Before the enticing “debt consolidation” and “consumer credit counseling” ads brainwash you into believing all is well, question them:
- Who pays you so that you’re able to provide this service?
- What (typically) is your overall strategy for helping me based on your help of others in a similar situation?
- How do you report me to creditors, collection agencies, and/or credit reporting agencies if I choose to leave this program early?
- Specifically, what should I expect from this program?
Credit repair fast schemes force you to look out for yourself, before they put you in worse shape than what you could have done on your own. Please leave me a question, comment or story about any experience you have had with these guys. In the meantime, I’m going to share more with you about the various programs and “secrets” they do not want you to know about their “bed” partners.
