I am enrolled with NACA in the Newark NJ office. I have verified with all three credit bureaus that the derogatory accounts are accurate I went through every reporting agency and obtained a report they all accurate, The accounts are not reporting as collections yet the are being reported by the original creditors so far. I tried to contact the finace company for the car loan to get a pay for delete but they wouldnt bite they told me that the account was going to be sent to a collection agency so I am just waiting for the dunning letter from them. I called the phone company and they told me it was sent to collections but they are not reporting it yet and I havent heard from them yet hopefully I can score a pay for delete from the both of them. My biggest problem is trying to rebuild new tradelines, please help I am so commited Thanks again Mike keep helping people.

Hey Lisa. In which NACA program are you enrolled? How are your derogatory accounts reported?

You should be able to get the LATE update to pays as agreed. You'll see how on my CD. Also on my CD you will receive 2 powerful credit-boosting accounts.... It's not enough to get a credit card that is not "seasoned." You should have a card but you now will have to build history. That's not good enough for your scores.

Are you thinking you will settle the $1200 and $800 debts? Have you confirmed on all reports that these 2 accounts are 100% accurate and verifiable?

"In conclusion, I will not reopen my credit repair account with Lexington Law; I will try your CD and see if it works."

My CD will work because all 8 secrets are tested by many, many people. These secrets give you 2 powerful credit-boosting accounts to add immediately. You should and you must add these two accounts. These are just two. Most people I talk with do not have enough ACTIVE and OPEN accounts (aka "tradelines" in the biz).

Credit improvement is more powerful than credit repair!

Thanks Mike for the quick response. I am hoping that the government extend the program. As far as my credit goes I have a car loan that went bad my car was totaled in 2008 and insurance paid for the car but there was a 1200 dollars left I didnt know about gap insurance so they are reporting it as a negative, Then there is a verizon bill that I owe 800 its going to collections it also from 2008, then there is a loan from my credit union with 2 late payments but it is paid.thats all the negatives for the past 24 months .

I am in the NACA program so only the last 24 months of my credit history will be looked at. I dont have any open good accounts right now but I spoke to my credit union and they are going to help me get some good tradelines that can be reported loans, credit cards etc. I am also eventually going to get another car so I want the intrest rate to be ok. Thanks Mike

Congratulations, Lisa! Most of all, you are taking ACTION. What is your middle credit score, Lisa? Are you aware FHA requires a middle credit score around 620 middle and 3 1/2% down payment? Are you also aware if you haven't owned a home in the last 3 years, you might qualify for the $8,000 tax "gift" that you can use at closing? Granted, this remarkable gift is for people who close before December 1, 2009. However, I expect Congress to extend this program. At any rate, you can get approved and a lower interest rate at 620. What is the negative credit on your reports? Have you checked this negative info on all 3 reports? Is each account reported the same on each?

How old is each negative account? Do you know your scores mostly come from all credit activity in the most recent 24 months? Let me know what kind of negative credit you have.

Last, how many good (open) credit accounts do you have? Ideally, you will have 3 "tradelines."

Thanks so much for your very kind words, Lisa.

Thanks Mike for all of the helpful information I have been working on my credit since I found this website and my credit score has improved 24 points in one month. I am working torward home ownership. I am not in alot of debt but the negative information is correct so I am going to pay what I owe. I am going to start rebuilding as soon as possible. I really need to get my hands on a copy of your 8 secrets to a 680 as soon as you get them in. Keep up the good work Mike thanks so much for the valuable information.

Thanks, Rachelle, for sharing your experience. This is not about bashing credit disrepair companies. This is about your (low) odds of improving your credit while paying a disrepair company.

A credit repair company's ONLY strategy is to score deletions....score deletions by firing off rounds of dispute letters. Please listen carefully: there's a time and a place for deletions.

But not EVERY bad credit account benefits from getting deleted. When a bad credit account is removed, it removes a CREDIT account, even if it's bad. If you have little credit, what do you have left to score? Improving your credit is NOT and CANNOT be about scoring deletions. You must add credit at the same time.

With some credit accounts, the strategy might be to go after a deletion. With other credit accounts, you might want to pursue FAVORABLE reporting such as "paid as agreed." You also might get the "LATE 30 Days" updated to reflect never late. You don't want to delete the account. You don't want to remove the history.

Remember, bad credit is better than NO credit. I hear from more people who are shocked that living responsibly for years on cash makes it very difficult to get any kind of credit when they actually need credit.

Hope this helps you understand that credit improvement is not always about common sense or what's logical.

Like Philip, I paid Lexigton Law Firm $50 a month for 2 years to "fix" my credit. Nothing about my credit changed...I just went further into debt because of their false promises.

Thank you so much for emailing me, Brian. I really appreciate you taking time to share your success. People reading my blog need to hear from people like you taking action and getting results. I know people are skeptical. They've heard it all, as many have been burned before. Thanks again. Have a great weekend. I hope your college team won yesterday. I love college football and couldn’t wait for yesterday.

Mike,
I only needed about 50 points but was able to get 80 points. The don't dos you were again right...I hurt myself a little when I thought it was my only choice. I have realized it is not just a one time fix and be done. We need to take charge of our credit and thats why I continue to follow your site. Thanks for everything and I am looking foward to the new batch of CDs.
